Garden Design & Installation

Initial consultation and survey

To begin, I visit the site to meet with the client and discuss their inspiration, vision and proposed budget for the project. If a budget has not yet been set, I can provide clear guidance on typical costs to help shape expectations. From this initial consultation, I create a detailed project brief that considers how the space will be used, alongside budget requirements and aesthetic preferences such as style, form and colour, and this also includes a clear quote for design fees. I then carry out a full site survey to accurately measure and map the space, record existing features and trees, and assess soil conditions to inform the design process.

Concept Development

Once the budget, preferred style and intended use of the garden have been established, I develop a series of draft design concepts for the client to review and select from. I offer as much or as little creative input as needed, drawing on my experience to provide inspiration and guidance. Whether clients have a clear vision or are seeking more comprehensive direction, I help shape ideas into a cohesive and practical garden design.

Final Design

Using the selected design concept, I produce a precise 2D CAD visualisation of the landscaping and planting layout. Clients receive the complete design package, including the detailed planting plan, plant list, and a full quote covering materials, plants, and labour. This clear and accurate plan provides a solid foundation for seamless project implementation.

Installation

Once the final design is approved, I source materials and plants from a wide selection of trusted local suppliers. I either personally carry out the installation and planting or closely supervise a team for larger projects. Clear communication is a priority throughout, ensuring the project runs smoothly from the first spade in the ground to the final clean-up.
